RBS Curriculum and Areas of Study

The requirements for Rutgers Business School: Undergraduate–New Brunswick programs of study can be divided into three parts.

Students must complete the requirements of their chosen major that are in effect at the time of their admission into Rutgers Business School.

In addition to the RBS curriculum students are required to complete the general education requirements of the SAS Core Curriculum.

To receive a degree from the Rutgers Business School: Undergraduate-New Brunswick, students must take at least 45 business credits at the Rutgers Business School: Undergraduate–New Brunswick.

Please Note: There are 4 courses from the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences (SEBS) that resemble Rutgers Business School course titles. If you take these courses or have taken these course after Fall 2011 you will NOT receive credit for these courses, and they will NOT count towards completion of your RBS degree. The courses are:

Due to the fact that RBS students cannot be enrolled in RBS and take these SEBS courses for credit, RBS students are not permitted to declare a second major or a minor in the Environmental Business and Economics program at SEBS.

Pre-Business (Major Eligibility) Courses

Students must complete the six pre-business eligibility courses to declare their major and take additional courses within the Business School. Students directly admitted to RBS must complete the pre-business courses by the end of the spring semester of their sophomore year. Students admitted as School to School and external transfers must complete the pre business courses by the end of the spring semester after they are admitted. All pre-business eligibility courses must be completed with a grade of C or better.

RBS Core Courses

All RBS students must complete regardless of their choice of major program. All RBS core courses must be completed with a grade of C or better.
